~ As part of the ongoing Galloway Street Widening improvement project, Galloway Street will be closed to all but one lane of eastbound traffic starting on Wednesday, January 22. This decision was made in order to allow for the construction of the widening improvements and is expected to remain in place until late summer.
According to Public Works Project Manager Nicholas Edelman, the construction of the Galloway Street improvements has been progressing quickly. He stated that the new roundabout at Lone Pine is already taking shape and that crews are preparing to move westward with utility and roadway improvements.

In order to ensure access to residences along Galloway Street and businesses on Lone Pine, while also providing enough space for the contractor to work on the widening project, limiting traffic to a single eastbound lane was deemed necessary.
Motorists traveling westbound are advised to take alternate routes such as Lone Pine Avenue, Battlefield Road or Republic Road. Those traveling eastbound are reminded to use caution when passing through the construction zone and follow all traffic control devices. It is important for drivers to reduce their speed in this area for their own safety as well as that of others.
