Springfield, MO ~ On the night of February 16, 2025, a domestic disturbance at 3405 E. Lomita St. in Springfield, MO resulted in a police-involved shooting. According to reports from the Springfield Police Department, officers responded to the scene at 10:41 p.m. after receiving a call about a suspect armed with a gun.
Upon arrival, officers encountered a male suspect standing in the driveway. Despite verbal commands from one of the officers, the suspect refused to comply. In response, the officer fired their weapon and immediately provided life-saving measures to the injured suspect.

The suspect was then transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. Fortunately, no officers or bystanders were harmed during the incident.
As per protocol, the officer involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative leave while an internal investigation takes place. Additionally, a criminal investigation is also being conducted and its findings will be presented to the Greene County Prosecutor's Office for review. The identities of those involved have not been released at this time.
This is an ongoing investigation and more details will be provided as they become available.
