(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ A juvenile has been arrested in connection with a shooting that took place on December 21st in Columbia, Missouri. The Columbia Police Department announced on January 28th that the juvenile was taken into custody for first-degree assault, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon.

According to the press release, the juvenile was located and arrested in Mexico, Missouri with the assistance of the Mexico Public Safety Department. The shooting incident occurred near East Broadway and Keene Street at approximately 3:20 p.m. Two juvenile victims arrived at a local hospital in a private vehicle and reported the incident to authorities.

The investigation is still ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact the Columbia Police Department at 573.874.7652. Tips can also be provided anonymously through CrimeStoppers at 573.875.8477. A cash reward of up to $2,500 may be given to those who provide information that leads to an arrest.

This case has been assigned number 2024-011205 and updates have been released previously by the Columbia Police Department regarding this incident. On December 21st, police responded to reports of shots fired in the area of East Broadway and Keene Street, and two juveniles were dropped off at a local hospital with gunshot wounds.
