(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia Police have made an arrest in connection to the murder of Vasshon Haywood, 48, of Columbia. Michael Graham, 66, has been taken into custody for the shooting that occurred on February 7 in the 700 block of North Garth Avenue.
According to authorities, Haywood was found with a gunshot wound and was rushed to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The victim's family has been notified of his death.
Graham is facing multiple charges including second-degree murder, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, stealing, possession of a controlled substance, and tampering with physical evidence. The investigation is still ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact the Columbia Police Department or CrimeStoppers.

The incident took place around 9:20 p.m. when police received a call about shots being fired in the area. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found Haywood with life-threatening injuries and immediately transported him to the hospital.
Missouri statutes related to this case include murder in the second degree, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, stealing, possession of a controlled substance, and tampering with physical evidence.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about this incident to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation. Tips can be provided anonymously through CrimeStoppers and may be eligible for a cash reward up to $2,500 if it leads to an arrest.
