New app-based social platform offers peer support for mental health 24/7 with free groups and resources.
LOS ANGELES - Missouriar -- Therapy 911 Launches First-of-Its-Kind Mental Health & Wellness Social Network in Honor of Mental Health Awareness Month
New platform empowers peer-to-peer support through app-based and web-accessible community groups addressing real-life mental health struggles
LOS ANGELES, CA — May 15, 2025 — In celebration of Mental Health Awareness Month, Therapy 911 LLC, a California-based startup, has officially launched Therapy911.com, the world's first Mental Health and Wellness-focused social network. With a mission to provide 24/7 peer support and eliminate stigma around mental health, Therapy 911 offers a safe, inclusive platform where users can connect through shared experiences, build community, and access mental health resources—all completely free.
Founded by Shannon Miller, AMFT, and self-described Chief Happiness Officer, Therapy 911 combines the connective power of social media with the healing potential of peer-led support. "In a world where people spend so much time online, we're leveraging that engagement to create a digital space for hope, empathy, and healing," says Miller. "Therapy 911 is not a replacement for therapy—it's a starting point for people who may not feel ready or able to seek professional help."

Peer Support in Your Pocket
The platform, available via web and a new mobile app for iOS and Android, features a growing number of moderated community groups. Topics include anxiety, depression, grief, suicide prevention, trauma recovery, and more. Specialized groups also support veterans, LGBTQI+ individuals, people of color, and other underserved communities—ensuring everyone finds a safe space to share, listen, and heal.
Peer support has been shown to significantly alleviate loneliness and enhance mental health across diverse populations (Chinman et al., 2021; Naslund et al., 2023). By providing an always-on support network, Therapy 911 fills a critical gap in a world where traditional mental health services may be financially or culturally out of reach for many.
In addition to peer support, the site offers a curated and growing library of free mental health and substance use disorder resources, helping users take their wellness journey further—at no cost.
Mission-Driven and Stigma-Free
Mission Statement:
To give everyone a safe place to talk about mental health and wellness issues 24/7 with peers who understand what you are going through. Let's feel better together—because stigma ends here.
