~ The Springfield City Council and City Manager David Cameron have responded to recent media reports about a group known as "Return to the Land" and their alleged plans to establish a "whites-only" community in the Springfield area. Despite no direct contact from the group, the city officials have made it clear that such a proposal goes against their values and will not be tolerated.
In a statement released by the City Council, they strongly denounced any efforts to create developments based on racial exclusion. They emphasized that not only is this against the law, but it also goes against the inclusive and welcoming nature of Springfield. The council made it clear that segregationist thinking has no place in their city's present or future.

While it is unlikely that such a project could legally or practically take place within city limits, the officials are not remaining silent on the matter. As leaders in the region, they refuse to stand idly by while harmful ideologies are revived. Instead, they are committed to moving Springfield forward by promoting unity and inclusivity.
The City Council's message is clear: there is no room for discrimination in Springfield or anywhere else. They are dedicated to building a stronger and more united community for all residents, regardless of race or background.
