"Our community is in crisis right now by this virus," says Dr. Mati Hlatshwayo Davis, Director of Health for the City of St. Louis. "Hospitals have had to make difficult decisions, and families are finding themselves isolated from work and school. We have the tools to protect ourselves through vaccines, including boosters, masking, social distancing, and handwashing, but we need everyone to adhere to those mitigation strategies to flatten this latest upward trend."

Testing is the best way to know if someone is infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which causes COVID-19. Knowing if a person has contracted COVID-19 allows them to isolate to reduce the opportunity of spreading the virus to their family, friends, and the community.
