~ As the new school year approaches, students and parents in St. Louis are getting ready for the start of classes on August 19. With this in mind, the City of St. Louis has announced a variety of programs available for children and teenagers to participate in after school.
From soccer training at Cherokee Recreation Center to Girls Talk at Gamble Recreation Center, and Computer Lab & Homework Help at Wohl Recreation Center, there is something for students of all ages to enjoy throughout the city this school year.
Mayor Tishaura O. Jones expressed her support for these programs, stating, "As a single mother, I know the importance of having quality programs available for our children after school. With the great activities put on by our Recreation Division, we are both giving children a chance to get help with their homework and to have fun and grow in a safe environment."

For even more options, Blueprint4 offers an easy-to-use search platform specifically for after-school programs. They also have a college prep program search platform for students considering higher education.
In addition to providing fun and educational activities for students, it is important that they stay healthy as well. According to Missouri state law, all students must be up-to-date on their required vaccinations before attending school. These include vaccinations against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, meningococcal disease, polio, measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella (chickenpox), depending on their grade level.
