Springfield, Mo. ~ Springfield, Mo. - After dedicating decades of their lives to serving and protecting the Springfield community, three members of the Springfield Police Department are set to retire in July. Lt. Tonya Price, Lt. Jeremy Anderson, and Cpl. Kevin Brown will be bidding farewell to their careers with the department.
Chief Paul Williams expressed his congratulations and gratitude towards the retiring officers, stating, "As humble servants of our community, I commend their dedication to their profession and to the Springfield Police Department. I am proud to have worked with each of them and wish them the best of luck in retirement."
Lt. Tonya Price joined SPD in 1998 as an intern before becoming a Police Services Representative. She then joined the 45th police academy in May 1999 and was promoted to corporal in 2008. Throughout her career, Price served on patrol as a Major Crimes Investigator, in the Financial Crimes Unit, and as Special Events Coordinator in the Community Services Section.

In 2014, Price was promoted to sergeant and later became a lieutenant in 2020. She continued her service on patrol as a commander before transferring to commander of the Community Services Section. With over 25 years of service at SPD under her belt, Price is retiring with a wealth of experience.
Cpl. Kevin Brown's journey with SPD began after graduating from Missouri Southern State University and working for two years as an officer in Aurora. He joined SPD's 48th police academy in 2001 where he graduated as class valedictorian and received the "Outstanding Recruit" award.
During his time at SPD, Brown spent five years on patrol training officers and frequently worked as a Major Crimes Investigator before being promoted to corporal in 2007. As a corporal, he served in various roles such as the Financial Crimes Unit, Homicide Response Team member, Secret Service Task Force member, and hostage negotiator. In 2015, he joined the Internal Affairs Unit where he spent the remainder of his years at SPD. Brown retires with over 23 years of service.

Lt. Jeremy Anderson's law enforcement career began with the Webb City Police Department and the Newton County Sheriff's Department before joining SPD's 50th police academy in 2002. He spent eight years on patrol before being promoted to corporal in 2010.
As a corporal, Anderson was assigned to the Property Crimes Unit and selected to be a part of the Traffic Section's Leaving the Scene of an Accident Unit. In 2015, he was promoted to sergeant and became the Traffic Section supervisor. Last year, Anderson was promoted to lieutenant and briefly served as a patrol commander before being selected as the Traffic Section commander. With over 22 years of service at SPD, Anderson is retiring with a wealth of experience.
On July 18, Cpl. Brown and Lt. Price were recognized for their retirement alongside Chief Williams in Image 1. Lt. Anderson was also recognized on July 17 with Chief Williams in Image 2.
The Springfield Police Department thanks Lt. Tonya Price, Lt. Jeremy Anderson, and Cpl. Kevin Brown for their dedicated service to the community and wishes them all the best in their well-deserved retirement.
