~ The Springfield Police Department is taking proactive measures to promote safety and crime prevention within the community. In an effort to expand their Neighborhood Watch program, the department will be hosting training sessions on June 27 and 28 from 6-8 p.m. The sessions will cover important topics such as crime prevention, observation and reporting skills, Operation Identification, and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED). With a total of 29 official Watch groups already established, the program continues to gain momentum in the City of Springfield.

The SPD is urging all citizens residing within city limits to take advantage of this opportunity by attending the free training sessions. It is mandatory for attendees to participate in both evenings in order to receive the full training.
