~ Springfield Police Department (SPD) is seeking the public's assistance in locating a vehicle involved in a fatal crash that occurred on July 18, 2019, at the intersection of South Campbell and West Republic at 6:54 p.m. The incident resulted in one fatality.

According to SPD, the vehicle in question is believed to be a maroon or red 2005-2007 Ford Escape. Attached photographs show the vehicle was also involved in the theft of a Budget Truck Rental box truck. Anyone with information about the vehicle or its whereabouts is urged to contact SPD at 417-864-1810 or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 417-869-TIPS (8477).

In addition, SPD is requesting any individuals who may have video footage capturing the vehicle or the stolen Budget Truck Rental box truck from July 18, 2019, to come forward with that information.

The stolen Budget Truck Rental box truck was also involved in an injury accident at National and Sunshine on July 18, 2019, at 7:02 p.m. The truck was later recovered on the same day. The incident remains under investigation by SPD.
