~ Springfield Police are currently investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred on April 15, 2019 at 1707 W. Elfindale. According to reports, officers responded to a call for an accident at 11:31 a.m.

The driver, identified as 84-year-old Elaine E. Gould of Springfield, is believed to have suffered a medical episode while backing out of her garage. She struck several objects before crossing Elfindale and colliding into a local business.

Despite life-saving measures performed on the scene, Gould was pronounced deceased upon arrival at a local hospital. Next of kin notifications have been made and no other injuries were reported in the incident.
