~ As the city of Springfield continues to recover from the recent storm, residents in Zone 1 are being reminded to prepare for a zone-wide Public Works pickup sweep. According to a press release, residents are asked to move any storm debris to the curb by 7 a.m. on Monday, August 11. This will allow for an efficient and organized debris removal process.
The pickup sweep is scheduled for August 11-15 and residents do not need to register for the service. However, they are reminded to only place organic debris on the streetside and ensure that it does not block sidewalks, driveways or drainage ditches.
