Springfield: Provide feedback via Community Development Needs Survey through Aug. 31

~ As the City of Springfield continues to grow and develop, it is important for officials to understand the needs of its residents and community members. In an effort to gather this information, the city has announced that it will be conducting a Community Development Needs Survey until August 31st.

The survey is open to all city residents, as well as neighborhood groups, businesses, developers, and public and private sector service providers. It aims to assess the community's needs in various areas such as affordable housing, economic development, public services, improvements and infrastructure, and public facilities.

It is worth noting that the City of Springfield receives federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) every year. These funds are based on factors such as population, demographics, and available funding. The City estimates that it will receive approximately $1.5 million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds and $1 million in HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funds each year for the next five years. These funds primarily benefit low to moderate-income households.
