Springfield, Mo. ~ Springfield, Mo. - In honor of National Faith & Blue Weekend, the Springfield Police Department is teaming up with local faith communities and Community Partnership of the Ozarks' Have Faith Initiative to host Stand Together Springfield. The event will take place on Friday, Oct. 11 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at 1357 S. Ingram Mill and is free and open to the public.
Stand Together Springfield aims to bring together individuals from various faith traditions in an effort to promote bridge building and community connections. The event will feature a short program that includes prayers from different faiths and performances by the Interfaith Choir. Attendees can also enjoy desserts and beverages after the program.
Police Chief Paul Williams expressed the importance of collaboration between law enforcement and faith communities in creating a safe and trusting environment in Springfield. "Stand Together Springfield allows officers and faith leaders to stand side-by-side with the community and continue to build relationships," he stated.

The event will showcase speakers from a diverse range of faith organizations, including Council of Churches, Faith Voices, The Have Faith Initiative, Methodist, Baha'i, Lutheran, Pagan, Hindu, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, American Indian, Muslim, and others.
National Faith & Blue Weekend will take place from Oct. 11-14 with the goal of promoting more inclusive communities through building bridges between law enforcement professionals, residents, businesses, and community groups. This initiative was launched to facilitate safer, stronger, more just and unified communities by fostering partnerships among local faith-based organizations.
