~ Springfield Police Investigate Suspicious Social Media Post
On May 9, 2019, the Springfield Police Department received a report from the Springfield Public Schools Police Department regarding a concerning social media post related to the evening's graduation ceremony. The Criminal Investigations Division immediately launched an investigation and was able to identify and contact the individual responsible for the post.

The male suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed, cooperated with authorities but was ultimately arrested for Peace Disturbance. The case is still ongoing and will be presented to the Greene County Prosecutor's Office for potential charges.
Assisting in the investigation were the Greene County Sheriff's Office and Springfield Public Schools Police Department. The Springfield Police Department urges individuals to use caution when posting on social media and reminds them that any threats or disturbing content will be taken seriously and investigated thoroughly.
