Springfield, Mo. ~ On Tuesday, November 18th, Springfield police responded to a disturbance involving a woman with a gun at the Price Cutter on East St. Louis. Before officers arrived, the woman fired her gun at Nathan Williams, 25, in the parking lot of the business. Williams was found on the ground with a gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital where he later died.

The woman who shot Williams has been questioned by detectives but has not been arrested yet. Detectives are asking anyone with additional information about this incident to contact the Springfield Police Department or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers. Once the investigation is completed, the case will be presented to the Greene County Prosecutor's Office for review and possible criminal charges. This is Springfield's 18th homicide investigation in 2023.
