Springfield, MO ~ On the night of February 16, 2025, a domestic disturbance call led Springfield police officers to respond to a residence on Lomita Street. According to reports, the suspect was armed with a gun. Upon arrival, officers found the male suspect standing in the driveway. Despite verbal commands from an officer, the suspect refused to comply. In response, the officer fired their weapon and immediately provided life-saving measures to the injured suspect.

The suspect was then transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. Fortunately, no officers or bystanders were harmed during the incident. As per protocol, the officer involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative leave while an internal investigation takes place.

In addition, a criminal investigation is also being conducted concurrently and its findings will be presented to the Greene County Prosecutor's Office for review. The identities of those involved have not been released at this time. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story.
