Springfield, Mo. ~ Springfield, Mo. - A tragic incident occurred on April 11, 2025, at a business located at 208 E. Kearney Street. The Springfield Police Department received a call at approximately 11:01 a.m. reporting a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, officers discovered the bodies of a man and woman inside the business.
The Springfield Police Department Homicide Unit was immediately called to the scene to investigate. After thorough investigation, it was determined that the male suspect, identified as 52-year-old Jeremy Kudrna, had shot and killed the female victim, Julie Kudrna, also 52 years old. It is believed that Jeremy then took his own life with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Both Jeremy and Julie were residents of Springfield and their family has been notified of this tragic event. The detectives are still actively investigating and are urging anyone with information to come forward and contact the Springfield Police Department at 417-864-1810 or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 417-869-TIPS (8477).
This marks the fourth homicide investigation for the year 2025 in Springfield. The community is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to help prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future.
