Springfield, Mo. ~ In the early hours of February 22, 2024, Springfield police officers were called to the scene of a possible shooting at 266 E. Erie. Upon arrival, they discovered a potential crime scene in the roadway.
Shortly after, at 12:36 a.m., officers were alerted to two individuals arriving at Cox South Hospital with gunshot wounds. The victims were identified as Trevin Dicks, 21, and Reggie Carey, 19, both from Springfield. Despite efforts to save them, both Dicks and Carey succumbed to their injuries. Their families have been notified of their tragic deaths.

The Springfield Police Department Homicide Unit has identified two suspects in this case - Tarrin Dicks, 19, and Isaiah Crabb, 18 - both from Springfield. They have been arrested and booked into the Greene County Jail. The case will now be presented to the Greene County Prosecutor's Office for review.
As detectives continue to investigate this tragic incident, they are urging anyone with information to come forward and contact the Springfield Police Department or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers.
This marks the second homicide investigation in Springfield for the year 2024 and sadly includes the second and third victims of the year. The community is left reeling from this senseless act of violence and authorities are determined to bring those responsible to justice.
