Springfield, Mo. ~ The Springfield Police Department Property Crimes Unit has identified and charged Jeffrey Brockman, 40, and Brandin Hylton, 35, in connection with a significant uptick of air conditioning units stolen over the summer. Both suspects have been arrested and are being held at the Greene County Jail. Hylton has a $5,000 bond and Brockman has a $50,000 bond.
Cpl. Zachary Pugh was assigned to one theft report which led to the identification of Brockman and Hylton. After further investigation, Pugh was able to connect the suspects with 12 other similar theft reports resulting in 16 air conditioning units stolen with a total financial loss of $100,000-150,000. The cases were presented to the Greene County Prosecutor's Office where Hylton was charged with stealing and tampering with a motor vehicle while Brockman was charged with felony stealing and tampering with a motor vehicle.

The Greene County Prosecutor's Office reminds that these charges are merely allegations and that the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
