~ Springfield police have made a second arrest in connection to the shooting that occurred on April 28, 2019, on West Lois Street. According to a press release from the Springfield Police Department, officers were dispatched to 722 W. Lois after receiving a 911 call reporting a shooting at 11:03 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found a male victim who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was immediately transported to Mercy Hospital where he underwent several surgeries and is still receiving treatment for his injuries.

The first suspect, Deandre Walls, was arrested at the scene after a short foot pursuit. He was charged by the Greene County Prosecutor's Office with several offenses including 1st Degree Assault and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Walls is currently being held without bond in the Greene County Jail.

During their investigation, detectives identified a second suspect as Cortell Scott, a 30-year-old male from Springfield. On Thursday, May 16, Scott was apprehended by Springfield Police officers after a brief stand-off at 2150 S. Ingram Mill.

The Greene County Prosecutor's Office has filed charges of 1st Degree Assault and Unlawful Use of a Weapon against Scott, as well as two counts of Armed Criminal Action. He is also being held without bond in the Greene County Jail.
