Springfield, Mo. ~ On the evening of September 7, 2025, a tragic two-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Grand and West Bypass in Springfield, Missouri. According to reports from the Springfield Police Department, officers were called to the scene at 6:23 p.m.
The crash involved a 2006 Triumph motorcycle, driven by 26-year-old Cullen Beshers of Springfield, and a 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan driven by 41-year-old Jimmy Waweru, also from Springfield. Beshers was traveling northbound on West Bypass while Waweru was heading west on Grand before turning south onto West Bypass directly into the path of the motorcycle.

Tragically, Beshers did not survive the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been notified of his passing. Waweru was arrested and taken to Greene County Jail on charges of driving while intoxicated.
The details surrounding the crash are still under investigation by authorities. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Springfield Police Department or make an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
This incident marks the 16th motor vehicle crash in Springfield in 2025, resulting in a total of 17 fatalities. The community is reminded to always drive responsibly and stay vigilant on the roads.
