~ Nixa, Missouri- The Missouri Job Center and Christian County Library are joining forces to host a Hiring Event on Thursday, July 31 at OTC's Ridgewood Valley Campus. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the main lobby of the building.
According to Ericka Schmeeckle, Assistant Director of Workforce & Economic Vitality for the City of Springfield, this partnership is a great opportunity for job seekers in Nixa and the surrounding areas. "We are pleased to partner with the Christian County Library to bring a large hiring event to this community," she stated. "This is a great opportunity for job seekers to visit personally with 19 employers and find out about job opportunities in various industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, and retail."

The participating employers include ABEC, Amprod, Bass Pro, Branson/Springfield Roofing Company, Braum's, Brightli, Communication Solutions, CoxHealth, Hiland Dairy, Jordan Valley Community Health, Mediacom, Missouri Department of Transportation, O'Reilly Auto Parts, Penmac, Red Monkey, Russell Cellular, Springfield Marine Company, Springfield Rehabilitation & Health Care Center and Stone County Developmental Disability Board.
The Missouri Job Center is located at 1661 N. Boonville and offers resources to help job seekers prepare for job fairs and interviews. Additionally, they have a Career Closet available during regular business hours for those in need of interview-appropriate clothing. The center's hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
