~ Springfield, MO- Lone Pine Avenue will be temporarily closed for approximately two weeks, starting Monday, March 24, as construction crews work to connect the roadway south of Galloway Street to the newly constructed roundabout intersection. The closure is weather permitting and will affect the stretch of Lone Pine Avenue between Barton and Galloway streets.
According to Project Manager Nicholas Edelman, the closure is necessary in order to tie-in the newly constructed roundabout on the south side. He also mentioned that there will be changes in traffic flow over the next few weeks as they work to fully connect the new roundabout to all directions of traffic flow. Motorists are advised to use caution and pay close attention to signage and traffic control when traveling through the area.

While Galloway Street will remain open for eastbound traffic only between Bellhurst Avenue and Lone Pine Avenue, eastbound to northbound traffic movements will still be allowed at the current Galloway and Lone Pine intersection.
For those traveling north or south, it is recommended to detour around the work zone by using Republic Road to Glenstone or Republic Road to Mentor Avenue/Ingram Mill. The project is expected to be completed within two weeks, barring any delays due to weather conditions.
