~ Springfield, Mo. - On Saturday, Sept. 17, local kids in grades K-6 will have the opportunity to meet and interact with Missouri State University (MSU) basketball players and Springfield Police Department (SPD) officers at the annual Bears, Badges & Kids event. The event will take place at Silver Springs Park from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
Organized by MSU, SPD, the City of Springfield, the Community Partnership of the Ozarks, the Dream Center, Greek Corner and Pizza Ranch, Bears, Badges & Kids aims to bring together the community and promote positive interactions between youth and law enforcement.

During the event, children will participate in basketball drills and a Q&A session with both MSU players and SPD officers. Each child will also receive a free lunch, T-shirt and replica badge as a reward for their participation.
Advanced registration is required for all participants in order to ensure that everyone receives their rewards.
