~ The City's Department of Workforce and Economic Vitality, in collaboration with the Ozark Correctional Center, is hosting a Job & Resource Fair on March 13 at the Ozark Correctional Center in Fordland. The event aims to connect employers and resource providers with individuals who will be released from prison within the next six months and relocating to 22 cities or counties across Missouri.
According to Jennifer Biri, Business Service Representative with the Department of Workforce & Economic Vitality, the fair is an opportunity for employers and resource providers to inform offenders about job opportunities and resources available to them upon their release. Biri emphasized the importance of a strong support system, including employment, in helping incarcerated individuals reintegrate into society and prevent them from reoffending.
