~ The city's Department of Workforce Development is celebrating National Registered Apprenticeship Week with a mayoral proclamation and update on the Apprenticeship Building America grant. The event will take place on Monday, November 13 at 2 p.m. at the Missouri Job Center in Springfield.
Haley Jones-Sides, Grant Coordinator for the Department of Workforce Development, expressed her excitement for the event and shared that they have already exceeded their enrollment goal for both registered apprenticeships and pre-apprenticeships since April.

The $3 million grant was awarded to the city's Department of Workforce Development in July 2022 with a goal of 400 registered apprenticeships completed during its four year tenure. The 10-county service area includes Barry, Christian, Dade, Dallas, Greene, Lawrence, Polk, Stone, Taney and Webster. The grant will run until June 2026.
