~ The City Council has officially approved the formation of a new Citizens' Advisory Board, tasked with providing recommendations on projects funded by the ½-cent portion of the new ¾-cent sales tax. This tax was approved by voters last November and will be used to support various initiatives aligned with Forward SGF, the City's comprehensive plan.
After careful consideration, the Council has selected eight members from a pool of 82 applicants to serve on the board. These members include Erin Danastasio, who has been proposed as chair for a three-year term, and Rusty Worley, who has been proposed as vice chair for a three-year term. Other members include Andy Peebles, Clif Smart, Becky Volz, Leslie Forrester, Lauren Shantz, and Christina Angle.

According to the resolution passed by City Council, the Citizens' Advisory Board will be responsible for following the "Completed as Promised" model for communication, identification, input, and prioritization of projects. They are also expected to provide project recommendations and a report on their duties by April 1st of each year.
In addition to these responsibilities, the resolution also outlines that City Council prefers projects that are administered by the City or through partnerships rather than acting as grant mechanisms.
