~ Springfield, MO- The deadline for high schools to register for the annual Build My Future Construction Showcase is quickly approaching. The event, which is set for March 27 at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds EPlex, aims to showcase the various aspects of construction, design, and skilled trades.

According to Megan Herzog, a committee member of Build My Future, the event will feature hands-on activities in both the east and west halls as well as the grandstand area. This is in response to the growing need for new workers in the industry due to an increasing number of retirements from the Baby Boomer Generation.

Interested schools can register online at www.BuildMyFuture.net/schools until Friday, February 9. Build My Future is a collaborative effort between government agencies, educational institutions, non-profit trade associations, labor unions, and private businesses. The committee includes representatives from organizations such as Mid-America Carpenters Union, Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development, MoDOT, AGC of Missouri, and The Builders Chapter of AGC.
