~ The Build My Future Board has recently announced the recipient of their $1,000 scholarship for a Kickapoo High School senior pursuing a degree in construction management. William Blaine, who will be attending Missouri State University in the fall, was chosen for his dedication and passion for the construction industry.
Blaine first attended the Build My Future event on March 27, 2024 in Springfield, where he was inspired to pursue a career in construction management after speaking with various professionals in the skilled trades. "I really enjoyed talking to the local plumber's union and trying out welding," Blaine shared. "I realized I wanted to be on construction job sites interacting with people. I think I am a good leader, and I can see myself overseeing job sites someday."
