~ Springfield, MO- The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks and the Springfield Police Department have joined forces to host the 2nd annual Blood Drive in Honor of Officer Aaron Pearson. The event will take place this Friday, March 15th from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Thomson Donor Center and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Busch Municipal Building.

Officer Pearson was shot in the line of duty in January 2015 and required 20 units of blood during surgery to save his life. In honor of his bravery and sacrifice, the blood drive aims to collect much-needed blood donations for those in need.

Participants who donate blood will receive a free t-shirt, hot rolls with cinnamon butter, and a gift card for a free appetizer from Texas Roadhouse. This is a great opportunity to give back to the community while also enjoying some delicious food.

To make your donation process even quicker, appointments can be scheduled on CBCO's website. However, walk-ins are also welcome as long as donors bring photo identification and have eaten well and hydrated prior to donating.
