Springfield, Mo. ~ At approximately 11:36 a.m. on May 10, officers from the Springfield Police Department were called to the scene of a crash at the intersection of Broadmoor and Glenstone Avenue. The incident involved a vehicle and a bicycle, and resulted in the death of the bicyclist.
According to reports, 78-year-old Ann Schonert of Springfield was driving her 2012 Mazda 3 westbound on Broadmoor towards Glenstone Avenue. As she turned onto northbound Glenstone Avenue, she collided with a man riding his bicycle in the northbound, right lane.

The bicyclist sustained serious injuries and was immediately transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. At this time, authorities have not been able to locate or contact the man's family.
The details surrounding the crash are still under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Springfield Police Department at 417-864-1810 or make an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 417-869-TIPS (8477) or online at p3tips.com.
Sadly, this marks Springfield's tenth fatal vehicle crash of 2025, resulting in a total of eleven deaths. The community is urged to stay vigilant and prioritize safety while on the roads.
