~ The City of Springfield's Building Development Services (BDS) Director, Brock Rowe, has announced his resignation from the position to take on a new role as the Development Director in Oklahoma City. After three years of service, Rowe was appointed as the director in 2022.
City Manager Jason Gage expressed his appreciation for Rowe's contributions during his time at the City. "Brock has done a wonderful job helping the City become more efficient and made a difference in his work to help address chronic nuisance properties," Gage stated. He also commended Rowe for his positive attitude and problem-solving skills, wishing him all the best in his future endeavors.
In a statement regarding his resignation, Rowe expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve as the Director of Building Development Services for the City of Springfield. He acknowledged the dedication and hard work of the staff, which he found truly inspiring and credited their efforts for contributing significantly to the growth and development of the community. He also expressed appreciation for the support and engagement of Springfield's citizens, stating that it greatly enriched his experience.

The search for Rowe's replacement will begin later this month. Additionally, Fawn Rowe, who served as an Executive Secretary in the City Clerk's Office, will also be leaving her position at the City. Gage acknowledged her contributions and stated that she will be missed by all.
Rowe's departure marks an end to his impactful tenure at BDS and Fawn's time at the City Clerk's Office. The City wishes them both success in their future endeavors and thanks them for their service to Springfield.
