~ Springfield, MO- The City of Springfield Department of Workforce & Economic Vitality is offering a unique opportunity for community members to receive environmental job training at no cost. The program, called Green for Greene, is set to begin in June and has a registration deadline of May 21.
Funded by a grant from the Environmental Protection Agency, this four-week training course will provide participants with 15 certifications that are highly sought after by employers in various industries such as environmental-related fields, advanced manufacturing, construction, transportation, and healthcare.
According to Jenny Neathery, the Green for Greene program coordinator, this is an excellent opportunity for those who are unemployed or underemployed to gain valuable certifications that can lead to promising career paths. Neathery also mentioned that upon completion of the training, participants will be connected with potential employers with the goal of securing employment by the end of the course.
