ST. LOUIS - Missouriar -- Circus Harmony, St. Louis' only social circus school, is recognized worldwide as a leader in circus arts education and youth development. This unique St. Louis based non-profit organization uses circus arts to promote social change. Their programming inspires individuals and connects communities in the St. Louis region and around the globe. This year, Circus Harmony is marking their 25th anniversary as a nonprofit organization with a Silver Circus Soiree on Saturday, April 11th.
Circus Harmony has launched the careers of many professional circus artists who have toured and performed with companies including Cirque de Soleil, 7 Fingers, the Flying Wallendas, and more. One of these alums, Sidney 'Iking' Bateman, is returning to St. Louis as the featured performer at the Silver Circus Soiree. Sidney's powerful story began in North St. Louis City where he was doing flips around the neighborhood. After training at Circus Harmony, he went on to the National Circus School of Montreal and then toured the world with Cirque du Soleil and 7 Fingers. In 2020, he joined the WWE, where he did the same flips from the circus ring in the square of the wrestling ring. (More info/pictures of Sidney below)
