ST. LOUIS - Missouriar -- The St. Louis Christmas Carols Association Launches Virtual "Caroling Telegram" Giving Campaign to Safely Spread Cheer and Support Youth

This holiday season, you can send friends, family and coworkers a little Christmas cheer and make a difference at the same time.  With a donation to the St. Louis Christmas Carols Association (StLCCA), you can select from several Virtual Caroling Telegrams to be delivered via email on Christmas Eve.  All proceeds will go to local agencies that serve children in the St. Louis region.

In their 110th season of caroling for a cause, not even a worldwide pandemic could stop this small but mighty organization.  The local nonprofit is raising money for 28 partner non-profit agencies working for children in the region such as Girls on the Run or the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri.  Funds are collected by hundreds of community caroling volunteers who perform throughout the region (both in residential neighborhoods and public spaces).  To date, they have raised more than $3 million for the cause.

With the focus on public health and safety during Covid-19, the organization began offering Virtual Caroling Telegrams in their 2020 season.  This season, two new virtual telegrams are available, including one created in partnership with the Red and Black Brass Band.  "The Red and Black Brass Band grew in popularity for the goodwill they shared in neighborhoods throughout the region during the pandemic - we can't think of a better collaboration to spread cheer during this holiday season," said Elizabeth Hogan, StLCCA's Executive Director.

Other telegrams feature local singers and public figures, including The Lesters, Kingsbury Place Singers, Fredbird of the St. Louis Cardinals and Louie of the St. Louis Blues.

"We know that many families and children are in need now more than ever," said Don Danforth III, Chairman of the Board of Directors.  "It is important to us to keep serving our community."  In addition to Virtual Caroling Telegrams, the organization also sells Christmas cards, connects interested carolers to resources and opportunities around the city, and accepts donations through their website at https://www.stlchristmascarols.org/telegrams.
