(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia College is taking a proactive approach to addressing the opioid crisis by hosting a SAVE-A-LIFE event on Thursday, Nov. 13. The event, which will take place from 6-7 p.m. in Bixby Auditorium, is a collaboration between the college, the Boone County Overdose Response Coalition, and Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services.
SAVE-A-LIFE is a monthly series of free events that aim to educate the public on how to prevent overdose deaths from painkillers like fentanyl. The focus of this particular event will be on naloxone nasal spray, a medication that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.

The event is open to everyone and no registration is necessary. Attendees can park in the parking lot east of the Columbia College soccer field, across from the Science Center. Naloxone will be available to all attendees at no cost.
Funding for this event comes from contract DH240054280 between Public Health and Human Services and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. Thanks to a continued partnership with the Missouri Institute for Mental Health, Narcan® will be provided at no cost to participants.
