(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services (PHHS) is hosting a Save a Life: naloxone education and distribution event in partnership with the Boone County Overdose Response Coalition on Thursday, Dec. 7 from 12 to 1 p.m. at the PHHS Building, 1005 W. Worley St. Following the event, PHHS staff will be available to provide information and brief training for individual walk-ins from 1 to 1:30 p.m.

Save a Life is a series of monthly events that aim to prevent opioid overdose deaths through the use of naloxone, also known as NARCAN®. Participants will receive training on recognizing the signs of an opioid overdose and how to use and access naloxone nasal spray. The event is free-to-the-public and funded by the Overdose Data to Action contract through the Center for Local Public Health Services within the Department of Health and Senior Services. In addition, NARCAN® will be available at no cost thanks to Missouri Institute for Mental Health (MIMH). No registration is required for this event.
