~ Planet Fitness, a leading franchisor and operator of fitness centers, has recently announced the recipients of its annual Judgement Free Generation® scholarship. Among the 50 deserving winners are Ismail B. and LaMyah W. from St. Louis, who have been recognized for their unwavering commitment to promoting inclusion, acceptance, and kindness in their communities.
The scholarship, which awards $5,000 to each recipient, was open to members of Boys & Girls Clubs across the United States. This year's winners represent a diverse group of individuals, with over half (52%) being first-generation college students. Planet Fitness has been a long-standing partner of Boys & Girls Clubs of America and has awarded a total of $250,000 in scholarships this year alone.
Unlike traditional scholarships that focus on academic or athletic achievements, the Judgement Free Generation® scholarship program was created to recognize high school students who consistently demonstrate kindness and acceptance through their words and actions. Through a rigorous selection process that included personal essays, staff recommendations, and video submissions, Ismail B., LaMyah W., and 48 other teens were chosen as this year's recipients.
