INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - Missouriar -- Erik Johnson comes to Missouri Palliative & Hospice Care (MPHC) with thirteen years of experience in medical equipment sales, marketing, and management. His most recent position was in the rapidly growing field of neuromodulation. Johnson's responsibilities included increasing awareness and access to life-changing procedures for thousands of patients with brain disorders. He began leading the dedicated MPHC community relations team on May 1, 2023.
"I am excited to have Erik in this position. His leadership will greatly impact the growth of our Community Relations Representative's team and our company," said Beth Aguirre, LSCSW, LCSW, Executive Director, and Director of Counseling Services.
The Community Relations Director works with Community Relations Representatives to identify and develop a network of potential referral sources. Johnson will establish and maintain relationships with physicians, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and assisted living communities while educating them on palliative and hospice care. Johnson's role includes maintaining standards for providing quality information to the patient Interdisciplinary Care Teams (IDT). Johnson holds a bachelor's degree in management and human relations from MidAmerica Nazarene University. He is currently working toward a Master of Science in Management with an emphasis on healthcare administration and human resources management.
