During his address, Mayor Schrag also emphasized the city's growth and evolution while staying true to its identity and values. He noted that Springfield is becoming a dynamic metropolitan area with increasing size, visibility, and opportunities.

The mayor also shared some positive statistics about Springfield's millennial population. According to an Axios report, Springfield has the lowest percentage of millennials living with their parents at only 6.2%. This is significantly lower than the national average of 15.8% and far less than cities like Riverside, California where 28.3% of millennials live with their parents.

Mayor Schrag expressed his excitement about Springfield finally receiving recognition for its growth and potential but stressed the importance of how we talk about our city. He believes that optimism, pride, and collective action will shape the future of Springfield.
