SOUTHGATE, Mich., June 24, 2025 ~ Light Source Communications (LSC) has recently completed work on a new dark fiber network in Kansas City, Missouri, providing the region's tech-rich ecosystem with new opportunities for connectivity. As Artificial Intelligence and other high-performance computing technologies continue to drive demand for greater connectivity, LSC's secure, scalable, and reliable network is set to meet these needs.
The 35-mile metro ring already has a major hyperscaler as the anchor tenant, with more on the way. In addition, the network is connected to four data centers so far. This marks the completion of LSC's first of four new network builds planned for this year. The company also has projects underway in Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Tulsa, Oklahoma, all set to be finished by 2025.
Debra Freitas, CEO of LSC expressed her excitement about this milestone saying, "We're thrilled to raise a toast to this exciting milestone. Expanding into the Kansas City market is a key step in our strategic growth across high-demand U.S. regions." She added that as AI and high-performance computing continue to drive unprecedented connectivity needs, LSC remains committed to delivering high-capacity and low-latency solutions to organizations of all sizes.

Kansas City is currently the third fastest-growing tech market in the U.S. and has become a hub for innovative data center projects. With its advanced infrastructure, thriving tech sector, and skilled workforce, it is an ideal location for LSC's state-of-the-art dark fiber solutions. The route will be entirely underground, ensuring maximum reliability and network security through a high fiber count and conduit system.
The Kansas City project follows a similar pattern to LSC's other dark fiber builds currently underway. In Las Vegas, the company is constructing a critical 60-mile route that will bring hyperconnectivity to one of the country's fastest-growing data center markets. The Phoenix network will span over 300 miles with 15 rings, while in Tulsa, LSC is adding 80 miles of new fiber to its existing 50-mile network. All of these networks are underground and anchored by a hyperscale tenant.
As a carrier-neutral and customer-agnostic provider, LSC is dedicated to meeting the evolving demands of today's digital economy. The company serves enterprises throughout the U.S. and for more information about their services, visit lscfiber.com. With the completion of their new dark fiber network in Kansas City, LSC is poised to support the region's growing tech sector and contribute to its continued success.
