FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. & OAKVILLE, Ontario - Missouriar -- Lineus Medical is proud to announce the signing of a distribution agreement with the largest independent distributor of vascular access products in Canada, Canadian Hospital Specialties (CHS). CHS is a privately held medical device manufacturer and specialty distributor employing approximately 450 employees and located in Oakville, Ontario. CHS sells medical devices in both the acute care hospital and non-acute healthcare space in Canada and internationally with over 70 sales representatives. Lineus Medical's SafeBreak Vascular, a breakaway device for all IV lines, will now be actively sold in all provinces of Canada.
SafeBreak Vascular is the only breakaway device for IV lines proven to reduce IV complications.1 When a harmful force is placed on the line, SafeBreak intentionally separates to remove the damaging force and protect the patient's IV. When SafeBreak separates, valves on both ends of the device close preventing medicine spills from the pump and blood loss from the patient. The separated device also causes the IV pump to alarm, notifying the nursing staff to check on the patient. To replace SafeBreak, each component is unthreaded from the line, a new sterile SafeBreak is installed, and the patient's infusion is restarted. It's a win-win-win. Patients avoid additional needlesticks, nurses save time, and hospitals save money1. SafeBreak is cleared for all vascular lines down to two weeks of age both in the United Sates and Canada.

Ryan Brick, VP of Sales at Lineus Medical, stated, "We are excited to expand into Canada with the company we consider to be the best vascular access distribution partner in Canada. Sales of SafeBreak are taking off and we believe 2024 will be a breakout year for Lineus. CHS has several hospitals committed to product evaluations in the first half of the year."
Vance Clement, CEO of Lineus Medical, stated, "SafeBreak Vascular was licensed in Canada for all vascular lines down to two weeks of age in August of 2023. We had a quick turnaround in finding the best distributor group to partner with to begin expanding throughout Canada. We believe this distribution partnership will be a great success for both Canadian Hospital Specialties and Lineus Medical. We are excited to bring our break-away technology for IV lines to patients in Canada"
