~ As the World Cup matches in Kansas City have come to an end, KC Water and field crews are gearing up to resume work on the Westport Stormwater Improvements project. After a brief pause, crews will be returning to the project site on Monday, July 20th.
The resumption of work will involve the closure of two streets in the Westport Area. Mill Street at Southwest Trafficway will be closed starting Monday, July 20th, while Westport Road between Mill Street and Bridger Road will be closed on Thursday, July 24th. However, Mill Street at Westport Road will remain open and accessible to businesses and driveways.

These closures are expected to last until later this fall. Detailed maps of the closures can be found for more information.
The remaining work on the project includes further improvements to storm sewers, as well as streetscaping and final road resurfacing. The project is estimated to be completed by the end of this year. Residents and businesses in the area are advised to plan accordingly for any potential disruptions during this time.
