~ Kansas City Water Issues Precautionary Boil Water Advisory in Two Areas
Kansas City, MO- In light of a recent water main break, KC Water has issued a precautionary boil water advisory for two areas in the city. The affected areas include East 51st St to E 43rd St and Sterling Ave to Woodside Ave, as well as E 53rd St to E 49th St and Hockers Rd to McCoy/George Ridge Road.
The advisory was put in place as a safety measure after a 12-inch water main lost positive pressure due to an ongoing repair in the area. This resulted in low to no water pressure for residents prior to the break being isolated.
According to KC Water, water service in the affected areas is expected to return to normal within the next few hours. However, until then, customers are advised to follow certain guidelines. These include boiling drinking water for three minutes before using it for consumption or food preparation, refraining from making ice during the advisory, and using boiled water for brushing teeth.

Restaurants within the affected areas are still able to operate but must adhere to the above guidelines. Any food safety inquiries can be directed to the Environmental Public Health Program Office at 816-513-6315 or by visiting http://kcmo.gov/health/environmental-health-ser....
