COLUMBIA, Mo. - Missouriar -- The International Misophonia Foundation (IMF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to advocacy, research, and support for people affected by misophonia, is thrilled to announce a groundbreaking fundraising campaign. The IMF is planning the establishment of a dedicated center to advance treatment, education, and research for misophonia—an often-misunderstood sensory disorder characterized by strong emotional reactions to everyday sounds.
This new facility, the first of its kind, will offer a sensory-friendly retreat with soundproof cabins, cognitive and sensory-based treatments, psychoeducation classes, and spaces for small research projects. The IMF aims to create an inclusive and supportive environment where those with misophonia can receive tailored interventions, attend clinician-led educational sessions, and participate in ongoing research efforts.
