According to Fire Chief David Pennington, the idea for the summit came about while exploring professional development opportunities for Springfield Fire Department staff. It was quickly realized that the entire community could benefit from this instruction from NPLI. "This summit will provide world-class instruction without the need to travel outside the region," said Pennington.
The event aims to offer a unique opportunity for senior executives and community decision-makers to gain actionable insights, connect with peers, and advance the region's holistic approach to preparedness. Topics covered during the summit will include cross-sector collaboration, leadership development, strategic preparedness, resilient systems thinking, and inclusive leadership.
Pennington emphasized that through shared learning and strategic dialogue, their goals for the summit are to create empowered leaders, stronger networks, and a more prepared community. With registration still open and an impressive lineup of speakers and topics planned, this event is not one to be missed by those looking to enhance their crisis management skills.
