SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 3, 2025 ~ Glaucoma 360, the signature three-day series of events hosted by the Glaucoma Research Foundation (GRF), is set to take place from February 6 to 8, 2025. This highly anticipated event will bring together leaders in the field of glaucoma for a festive Gala, an innovation incubator, and informative continuing medical education programs.

The first day of Glaucoma 360 will kick off with a Gala on February 6th. This event not only serves as a celebration but also raises funds for GRF's research and patient education programs. It will also honor individuals who have made significant contributions to glaucoma research and share GRF's mission to cure glaucoma and restore vision through innovative research.

Among this year's honorees are Sean Ianchulev, MD, MPH, who will receive the Catalyst Award for his work as a physician, researcher, inventor, and technology developer. The Visionary Award will be presented to Michael Belkin, MA, MD, in recognition of his groundbreaking innovations that have transformed glaucoma care. Additionally, Delta Gamma, a woman's fraternal organization known for their volunteer work and advocacy for the visually impaired community, will receive the President's Award for their bold philanthropy.

The following day, on Friday February 7th, Glaucoma 360 will continue with its New Horizons Forum. This unique gathering brings together nearly 400 participants annually including clinicians, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, venture capital financiers, key opinion leaders and glaucoma patients. The forum provides a platform for presentations, discussions and networking opportunities aimed at accelerating the development of new therapies and diagnostics for glaucoma patients.

The keynote address at the New Horizons Forum will be delivered by pioneering glaucoma researcher and clinician Carla Siegfried MD. Dr. Siegfried is a Distinguished Professor of Ophthalmology and Vice Chair for Diversity, Equity and Professionalism at Washington University in St. Louis. Her lecture, titled "Glaucoma Racial Disparities: Applying Innovation from Bench to Clinic to Community," will shed light on the issue of racial disparities in glaucoma and how innovation can help address this problem.

The forum will also feature a presentation on the role of artificial intelligence in transforming glaucoma diagnosis and management. This session will be led by Felipe A. Medeiros, MD, PhD, from the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and Inder Paul Singh, MD, president of The Eye Centers of Racine & Kenosha.

The final day of Glaucoma 360 will include two continuing medical education symposia for ophthalmologists and optometrists. The Glaucoma Symposium CME on February 8th will feature a keynote lecture by M. Roy Wilson, MD, MS.
