(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services (PHHS) has recently been re-accredited by Prevent Child Abuse America (PCA America) as a home visiting service provider for pregnant families and families with young children. This accreditation is based on the use of the Healthy Families America (HFA) model, which focuses on providing support and resources to families in need.

The re-accreditation process involved a thorough examination of PHHS's operations, processes, and the quality of services provided by their home visitors. According to Stephanie Browning, director of PHHS, this achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of their social services staff in helping families in their community.

As the longest-standing home-visiting provider in Boone County, PHHS has been offering high-quality services for over 60 years. Families are paired with a home visitor who can assist with family development, screenings, and case management.

Kathleen Strader, national director of HFA, commended PHHS for their commitment to providing quality home visiting services. She stated that all families and communities deserve access to such services and praised PHHS for undergoing such an intensive review process.
